Beware the Eldritch Terror (2010-07-22) : 1/5
Let me set the scene for you if I may: I am visiting a local REDACTED toy store in REDACTED to buy some Legos for my son's birthday. As I stroll into the store on a bright, sunny Saturday it becomes instantly clear that something is gravely amiss. The greeter at first appears to be elderly, but upon further examination proved to be a young woman, no more than twenty. She had deep sunken eyes and her sallow, gray skin seemed more to be hung on her frame than attached. She mumbled something to me that may or may not have been English, and handed me the weekly flier. Unsettled, but undeterred I made my way towards the Legos aisle. It was at this time that I became aware of an insistent pressure at the base of my skull; an almost palpable push where no hand was present.br /br /Perturbed, I stopped and looked around, I saw nothing, but at last became aware of the insistent psychic tugging of the store's music system. It was children....singing. "Cute", I thought...but it wasn't cute; not cute at all. My vision began to blur as the demon-spawn shrieked on and on and on and on about fireflies. A vast gaping hole...no a mouth, opened before me and I fell forward, out of space and time into a bottomless void. I was cut to ribbons by glass shards of voice, chewed up and spit out in an endless cycle of banality and pain.br /br /Finally, I awoke in a nondescript room, surrounded by what appeared to be medical equipment. A short time later two men from the REDACTED entered and stood quietly observing me. After a few minutes I began to weep uncontrollably and begged for an explanation of what had happened to me. The man on the left, who I later learned was named REDACTED, showed a flash of sympathy and said, "Sir, you are a very lucky man - most simians would have died after receiving the exposure you did." br /br /"Exposure...?" br /br /"Sir, you were Kids Bopped - you've been unconscious for 17 days. For 11 of those days you bled uncontrollably from the eyes and ears. You needed 35 units of transfused blood, and your heart had to be restarted twice. It was a VERY near run thing."br /br /"When you went to that REDACTED you were trucking in an evil you cannot possibly comprehend. You will soon be well enough to leave - my advice to you is to go home to your wife and children, and forget this ever happened."br /br /Forget....if only I could. My hair has turned bright white and at 35 I must walk with a cane. My right hand trembles constantly, debilitatingly so whenever I hear Ryan Seacrest's voice. And the nightmares - apple cheeked incubi that claw at my sanity. BEWARE! Cthulhu no longer slumbers in R'lyeh; he is not the giant octopus-bat-ape god of legend, but an apple cheeked fallen angel, earnestly shrieking vacuities so devoid of musical value as to make Shakira sound like the Beatles by comparison. br /br /Hold your family close and pray that the coming psychic apocalypse will pass you by.br /
Good cd for kids (2010-07-21) : 5/5
Bought this for my 10 year old daughter's birthday. She wanted this cd the most out of all her presents. I never thought I would buy a Kidz Bop cd. I thought they were destroying songs and lame but I finally gave in. It's not as bad as I thought it would be. It's cute. She loves it and so does her 8 year old brother and 4 year old sister. Her favorite song is 'Fireflies'. I am glad I don't have to worry about her singing and listening to inappropriate lyrics. I would recommend this cd to anyone with kids. Will be buying more Kidz Bop cds in the future.
