I bought this CD for one song: Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress. But I was pleasantly surprised at how many memories from my youth came flooding back when I heard so many of the other songs. I was listening to Rush Limbaugh and he used Long Cool Woman as a bumper tune. However, I couldn't think of the name, the era or the performer. But as usual, Rush came through and finally gave me the information I needed.

I remember having the vinyl LP of this album as I grew up. I think I bought it when I bought the new Apple releases of "The Beatles 1962-1966" (red) and "The Beatles 1967-1970" (blue) which also came out that year. What a great time it was for listening to music and buying records and cherishing the album covers.br /br /There are other greatest hits collections out there of The Hollies, which has more of their UK charted hits, but I just like the limited selections of this particular original that does, however, comes with two bonuses that I appreciate having added. This latest release of this original 1973 issue comes with the album version of "Long Dark Road" which is a little longer, but most importantly, it comes with "The Air That I Breathe" which was released just after this original greatest hits collection was released. br /br /"The Air That I Breathe" was released on their 1974 album "Hollies" which was about 7 months after this original greatest hits album was released. Plus, this album has been re-mastered beautifully. The mix of the earliest tracks blends in comfortably with the later releases so their sound quality is exceptionally balanced very well.br /br /If you want to build a nice British Invasion CD collection, this CD is very essential.
